Today’s Author: Pastor Bill

Scripture: Philippians 4:6
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” NKJV

Hello, my name is Pastor Pieter Albasini with the Dutch Reformed Church (One in Christ) in Gweru, Zimbabwe. Most call me Pastor Albie. I grew up in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe, about 125 miles South and West of Harare, our capital city. I was the first born to my mom and dad. As a young man, I was directionless. Always looking for something but never finding it.

After reaching a point in my life where nothing mattered, including my marriage and our children, I realized that I needed help. So, my wife and I attended an alpha course looking for spiritual guidance. At the end of that course I made a commitment to Jesus Christ. Over the next six years I hungered for the things of the Lord. I entered Bible school graduating into pastoral ministry.

Through the years we have seen the mighty hand of God’s provision through the terrible troubles of our collapsed economy. Many have come for prayer and the Lord answers in ways that are too many to list. When there is nothing Jesus is up to something. Luke 1:37: “For with God nothing will be impossible.” NKJV We have been blessed to experience this first hand — to God be all the Glory!

This Cross planted will remind all who pass by that Christ died for them. It will shout that He alone desires to have a relationship them. It is also a sign to all that this is where you come for help. Jesus will help you.

This Cross planted is a reminder to me of the work of Jesus Christ. It brings me great joy to see it. The Cross is a big reminder to all that we are a house for Jesus Christ. I believe people will refer to us as the church with the big Cross in front of it.

My favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 5:15, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise.” NKJV

Prayer: Father thank you that nothing is impossible with Jesus. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
