Hello, my name is Lovemore Nhumbwa. Everyone calls me Pastor Lovemore. I grew up a two-hour drive North East of Harare, the capital city of Zimbabwe. I have been married to my wife Maria for 10 years. We have no children but desire that one day the Lord will provide.
I was born into a family of 5 children, four boys and one girl, me being the fourth child. This is my Cross testimony of how Jesus is King of my life and leads me in ministry.
A group of Christians from the Evangelical Church gathered people together in our area showing the Jesus Film. That is when Jesus spoke to me. I was convicted of my transgressions and learned Jesus wanted to forgive me of my sins.
I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour after watching the film. I was a new person born again in the spirit. I was eager to learn more. I was introduced to Proverbs 15:3 “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good” NKJV
It pierced my heart that the God of the universe was watching me and personally taking an interest in me. I asked to be baptized but there was no proper place for us to do it. Near was an animal feeding station. Without hesitation I was baptized in the closest cattle feeding trough. My life for Christ was off to a strong start of humility.
I became a Pastor in 2007 and went on to the Baptist Bible Seminary in Gweru, Zimbabwe. I graduated in 2010 and started my ministry in the same year at the Chinhoyi Baptist Church. I was then transferred to the Mpopoma Baptist Church in Bulawayo in 2012 where we stayed and served for a year before being moved back to Chinhoyi. Now I am proclaiming Christ because He died for my sins and has called and commissioned me to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ to the whole of Zimbabwe.
Having this Cross planted inspires me for the Lord. It reminds passers-by about Jesus’ death and resurrection. His hands stretched out are an invitation to all to come to Him with their sin. No matter where they are, whichever of the cardinal points, South, East, North and West of here, Jesus died for their sins because He loved everyone with a love that endures forever.
There are many miracles in our life through prayer. The one that stands out for me is that there was a person who was sick in the ICU in the hospital. I was called and I prayed for him. By the power in the name of Jesus Christ, he was immediately healed.
My vision is to plant many fellowships fulfilling the Great Commission while evangelizing the lost. I dream for the day of traveling throughout Zimbabwe with a PA System conducting crusades from one location to another.
My favorite verse is The Great Commission to Go: Matthew 28:18-20,
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. NKJV
The best thing I love about ministry is the excitement of being where life is happening. Presenting the lifesaving message of Jesus Christ. Doing life with people teaching them about Jesus. I am fully persuaded that Christ will come back soon to collect His Church. Are you prepared? Are you ready?
Prayer: Father thank you for opening doors for Pastor Lovemore to reach throughout Zimbabwe with his PA System delivering the Good News of Jesus Christ for all to hear. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
