“Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.” NKJV

Hello, I’m Pastor Leonard Makhanya with the Full Gospel church of Efaye in Dalton, South Africa. We are located about one half hour south of the fertile timber-producing area of Greytown in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

I was born in here in Dalton the youngest of two children – no father or mother — raised by my aunt and grandmother. We attended the Zionist Religion which is a combination of African traditional religion and Christianity.

When I was 17 years old I was in Greytown, South Africa looking for work and joined in a Christian revival. The preacher was speaking on Luke 7:11-15 where Jesus raised from the dead the son of a mother in Nain, Israel.

When I heard the story of what happened in Nain I was all in for Jesus. I could not get enough teaching about Jesus. I diligently studied the Bible and became a servant of the Lord. Helping out whenever and wherever I could. I learned much and the Lord opened doors that could have never been opened for me.

Then the Lord introduced me to Mavis. I knew she was to be my wife when I first saw her. In a short period of time she learned I was for her. We were married and we have three children. A girl Londiwe (means keep) and the two boys. Nkonzo (means service) and Khulekani (means prayer).

We served the Lord together as we raised our family and then it became my turn to become a Pastor. The Lord blessed me with the gift of prayer. When I prayed for people Jesus would answer. They would come asking for prayer and Jesus would heal what the doctors could not. He cured fevers, cancers, relationships and finances. Everything became subject to the name of Jesus.

Then I had a vision of three churches. I could see myself as the head of all three praying for people. A few years later it became a reality. Just as my vision showed I was praying and Jesus would answer. Even today it is still happening.

The Cross to me shows the work Jesus did for us. His trials and tribulations were for me and you. For everyone because we are all sinners. We all need the saving Grace of Jesus Christ which became available to us through His sacrifice on the Cross.

This Cross planted today reflects Jesus who died for our sins. He took on all my sins and he will do the same for you. Just ask.

Prayer: Father thank you for those who step out of the crowd and receive Jesus putting their faith in action as they follow Him. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
