And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” NKJV
Hello, my name is Reverend Bokang Palupalu with Assemblies of God Church Gilgal, Pumula So, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and this is my Cross testimony of how Jesus turned my life around for His purposes.
I grew up a PK. Preachers Kids always have a struggle for identity and I was no different. For me it was best that I distanced myself from the church. Oh, as the fifth born of twelve children to a preacher, I knew what church was. I knew how to pray and learned that my mom prayed for each one of us often. But as a youngster I just went through the motions. To get my attention the Lord struck hard and fast. At age 12 I attended just another crusade with my family. But, this one would be different. When the altar call came it was my time, it was my turn to Acknowledge Jesus with no embarrassment.
My aunt had a recent stroke. She was unable to speak and one side of her body was paralyzed. She was brought up on stage in a wheel chair and I thought, “this is not going to go well.”
Then as I watched a group of people laid hands on my aunt and began to pray for her. They anointed her with oil and suddenly she got up out of the chair, walked around and began to speak. The place went crazy with cheers and appreciation to the Lord.
That got my attention. I reasoned, “why should I reject Jesus if He heals my aunt?” Then a cloud lifted off me and I could clearly see that I was living my life trying to run from Jesus when all He wanted was for me to stand up and acknowledge Him.
That was that — my life changed. I began engaging in the youth group. I became a leader. I became hungry to learn about the things of God. I began applying all things I had observed over the years and stuffed away in embarrassment. Impressing my friends had been most important in my life — now my life was all about impressing Jesus. I changed my friends to others who walked with Jesus. Together we would change lives for Him. This was when I received the gift of healing form the Holy Spirit.
I joined the army and they trained me as a nurse. To this day, I am nurse in a large hospital along with Pastoring this church. I was in the army for 21 years. In 1990 I met my wife. We have five children.
1995 I became an elder in our church

The Lord has done many miracles among the people. A man was bleeding massively from his nose and medical doctors could not control it. We prayed and Jesus stopped the bleeding instantly. A 15-year-old girl who was deaf from birth received her hearing and many barren women asking for children and the Lord has answered.
My favorite Bible verse is 2 chronicles 7:14. Today, we need it more than ever.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” NKJV
This Cross planted today will become a beacon of hope to a dying world. There is salvation in only one — The Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father thank you for those who stand up and are found in the comfort of loving Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
