Scripture: Proverbs 1:5
“Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance” NLT

The Saturn V (5) was the most powerful space launch vehicle as measured from a height, weight and payload standpoint. NASA launched thirteen Saturn V rockets between 1967 and 1973 including the Apollo moon landings.

Standing 363 feet high makes the rocket as high as a 36 story sky scraper.

When the mighty rocket blasted off it is interesting to note that the guidance system was shut off. It wasn’t until the rocket had left its launch pad that the guidance computers kicked in directing the path.

The guidance computers were critical in making sure the rocket always went where it was intended. Just one degree off would result in the rocket arriving several thousand miles off course.

During all thirteen flights of the Saturn V the guidance system worked flawlessly to bring the rocket and its payload to the right place at the right time.

Life as a new Christian is like the lift off of the massive Saturn V. A spectacular blast off but soon the new Christian is in need of navigation — like the Saturn V guidance system.

And what is that guidance system every Christian needs? Clearly the Bible!

Just as the Saturn V guidance system makes adjustments every few seconds in the flight path of the rocket — the Bible when applied daily in a Christian’s life — under the direction of the Holy Spirit — will point out the right direction to reach heaven at the appointed time.

Prayer: Father thank you for providing the Bible, inspired by the Holy Spirit, as my personal guidance system directing your ways. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
