“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” NKJV

Pastor Carol and I are often asked, “How do you contact the specific locations for Cross plantings?” Our answer takes us on many different adventures for the Lord as the entire world is the map. Following is just one way in which the Holy Spirit has divinely guided us.

In the fall of 2015 we had to decide how we should fly to South Africa. We had two choices. One choice takes us from Minneapolis into Europe where we change planes and then fly on to Johannesburg, South Africa. The second option is fly to Atlanta, Georgia, and change planes flying direct to Johannesburg. Either way we spend anywhere from 18 – 22 hours in the air. We chose flying to Atlanta.

We arrived in Atlanta on schedule and proceeded to our boarding gate. Pastor Carol sat down first and she was next to a lady with her husband seated next to her. We had about 25 minutes before boarding and the two ladies began talking.

Somewhere in those few minutes their discussion turned to a question from Pastor Carol, asking, “What do you do for the Lord?” The lady was more than happy to tell of her ministry. Pastor Carol asked, “Do you own the land your church is on?” The answer was, “yes.” Pastor Carol then asked, “would you like a cross planted at your church?” The lady asked, “Would you come all the way to Atlanta, Georgia, to plant this Cross?” Pastor Carol responded with, “yes.”

Fast-forward to October 2016.

Hello my name is Apostle Valerie S. Rogers from A Word in Season International Ministries, Lake City Georgia. This is my Cross Testimony of how the Lord has provided this Cross as part of His plans for our lives.

I was born in Detroit, Michigan, the ninth of nine children. My dad was a Pastor and mom watched over all of us at home. We grew up in church. When the doors were open, we were there. Dad also had a full-time job as a welder so we were always busy as a family.

In 1989 I realized going to church was not going to get me to heaven. Life was turning tough — sin, hurt and depression had a grip on me. Then it became clear to me I didn’t have all the answers. I turned to Jesus and began my personal relationship with Him.

After making my connection with the Lord He has poured His mysteries and secrets into my life. He directed me in the development of my new life and into full time ministry. Eventually with my husband, Elder Gregory, we founded and oversee A Word in Season International Ministries in Lake City, Georgia, a suburb south of the Atlanta International Airport.

Together we have seven children, twenty-eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. I’ve now committed my life to serving as a bridge that connects the lost to Christ. My spiritual journey has not always been easy but my faith in God has allowed me to push past every obstacle. My new lifestyle is an epitome of Christianity because it is filled with times of prayer. The Lord has allowed me, and the Holy Spirit has indwelled me with gifts to be a visionary, trailblazer, spiritual mother, psalmist and shepherd to many here in the USA and internationally.

In 2009 I was affirmed an Apostle. Currently I oversee several ministries throughout the world. The Lord, in my new life with him, has given me a heart for people. He challenges me to vigorously search for innovative ways to help God’s people find their purpose in life, launching them into their God ordained destiny.

My Holy Spirit gifts are manifested as an anointed psalmist uplifting and worshiping God in songs of praise. By the grace of God, I released my first album in 1999 entitled, “In Remembrance,” and recently wrote and released a new song entitled “Harvest Time.” My first book titled “A Right Spirit Within” was printed in May of 2016.

I have traveled extensively throughout United States and treaded the soils of Jamaica, Israel, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Haiti, Spain, Finland, Germany, Belgium and Ireland. All throughout the world I’m invited to speak at crusades, conferences and revivals with miracles, signs and wonders following. As the Apostle mandate increases in my life my travels continue fulfilling the will of God.

We are expecting A Word in Season International Ministries to begin building our new facility yet this year.

Pastors Bill and Carol this Cross planted represents a statement for the love of God. That He would send His son to die for me. And everyone passing by is reminded of the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which, affords us Salvation, healing, and restoration. To God be all the Glory!

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” NKJV

Prayer: Father thank you for providing Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers who minister to all who believe Jesus is the Way, The Truth and The Life. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
