Scripture: Psalm 25:8
“Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way” NKJV

Hello, my name is Pastor Edmond Sainval with the Eglise Evangelique Baptistery Nouvelle Vision de Pignon, Ministere Holistique church in Pignon, Haiti. This is my Cross testimony of how Jesus Christ has orchestrated my life from an early age.

I grew up in the rural area of Bahon, Nord Haiti, the youngest of nine children. Mom was an entrepreneur seamstress who sold the clothing she made. Dad was a farmer. We were a church family growing up, but it wasn’t until I was 23 years old the I became serious with Jesus.

While in High School I received my first indication that Jesus wanted me to be in ministry. I was 15 years old when Jesus came to me in a vision and told me to become like Abraham. I saw something written in Hebrew. After a few minutes it went away. Jesus spoke to me asking, “Do you want to have wisdom? I immediately answered , “Yes.” “Then you must look to me,” He answered. It was then I realized that I needed to serve Jesus with my whole heart. I understood that Jesus wanted me to serve Him full time for the rest of my life.

It’s wasn’t easy because Satan didn’t want me in ministry for the Lord. I suffered much in high school because I didn’t always have enough energy to serve Jesus. And I didn’t always believe that Jesus would help me with all things. I did things my own way.

I went to university to learn law. My grades were good, but my life was unsettled. I was very good at law, but Jesus reminded me in another vision that I was called to be a pastor. My second year in law school, I was stricken with severe headaches. I asked Jesus to heal me. He did. I was 1st in my class but Jesus again reminded me in a vision that wasn’t the plan for his life. I finished my law degree and then attended seminary in Limbe, Haiti to become a pastor. Now my heart was full, and joy engulfed my life.

I graduated seminary serving in a church in Hinche, Haiti. Then I asked Jesus for a good wife to serve with me. That was when I met Adele. They married and together we have five children.

In 2004 Val and Adele began Eglise Evangelique Baptistery Nouvelle Vision de Pignon, Ministere Holistique. The church has grown and they are breaking ground for another church in a nearby village of Bouqueronn, Haiti.

Their vision is rooted in Jesus as they work together for the Glory of God.
1. Counsel people to believe in Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. Help people achieve their goals through the power of the Holy Spirit.
3. Sharing love with children and helping them understand the trials of life.
4. Freely the Lord has given them and freely they share what they have with others.
5. Helping their people overcome difficulties through the power of the Holy Spirit

Miracles are special events that Jesus provides for us. He has supplied many through the years.

When I was a child, I climbed a mango tree and fell to the ground. I could have fallen into the cactus fence or into a hole, but an angel caught me, and I fell into a bed the pigs made and it was very soft.

My son Jean Gabriel had a problem with his femur. He couldn’t walk well. Everyone in our congregation prayed for him that God would heal him. Some missionary friends helped pay for him to go to the Dominican Republic to get surgery. He is healed now and has completed his master’s degree.

Our daughter Anne Prisla went to school but she couldn’t learn. Our congregation prayed asking Jesus to help her read and learn the Bible. One day I prayed and had a vision with writing on the wall. I couldn’t see things clearly. After a few minutes I could see everything very clearly. I knew it was a miracle for my daughter. I went home, and my daughter was reading the Bible with her grandmother. She finished her high school and now is almost finished with her nursing degree.

When Adele was birthing our last son Jean Sammy, the baby’s head came out, but the shoulders wouldn’t. The doctors couldn’t do anything. Adele cried out to Jesus and just like that the baby was born with no ill effects.

I prayed with a member of our congregation who was diagnosed with cancer in her ovaries. The doctors gave her 6 months to live. After praying I asked her to read and repeat Psalm 103 often. After 6 months the doctors could find no cancer. This was in 1990 and the lady is still alive today. Praise The Lord!

My favorite Bible Verse is the Bible story in Mark Chapter 8 when God gave 5000 people food. With 5 bread and 2 fish. This passage impacted my life. It is a big verse for our ministry. Jesus shared the gospel, the disciples wanted to send the people away, but Jesus met their needs. God multiplied the food through the power of the Holy Spirit. He showed us the importance of sharing with others. And they had 12 baskets of food left. The love of Jesus always wins out.

When I see this Cross planted it helps me focus on Jesus that He has given his life for us to help us gain eternal life. We had been separated from God the Father so He sent His Son to die for us on the Cross. Jesus has died to give us forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.

When our community sees this Cross, they will learn we have a vertical connection directly one on one with Jesus. The arms of the Cross signify our horizontal relationship with others and bringing them to join us with Jesus in our vertical relationship. It is very important. It demonstrates God’s love for us through the blood of Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Father thank you for Jesus establishing a vertical connection whereby we receive forgiveness for sin and redemption because He loved us enough to die on a Cross for us. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
