Today’s Author: Pastor Bill

Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” NKJV

Hello, my name is Glenn Dato-on the Director of Keith Williams Bible College number 2 in Big Mardus, Glan, Mindano, Philippines. I was born the oldest of four children in Davao City, Mindano, Philippines. My father was an Evangelical Pastor and mom was a Public School teacher. This is my Cross testimony of how the Lord directed my life for his glory by ministering to the Mountain People of the Philippines.

When I was seven years old, I experienced a preacher, who came to our church and discussed the love of Jesus. He explained in great detail how much Jesus loves me. He explained John 3:16 from the Bible and my spirit leapt within me. I knew I wanted to be in church, learn more and become a Pastor.

Throughout the rest of my Elementary and High School I became a Christian youth leader. The more I leaned about Jesus the more I wanted to know. As a Freshman I was chosen as the Youth Officer and the Lord was blessing everything I was doing.

Then tragedy struck. My kidneys shut down. Doctors were not optimistic of my chances for a good life. It was a time to rely 100% on the Lord. I prayed “Jesus if you are God heal me.” My Pastor prayed the Lord would extend my life and use me for the Kingdom. Within weeks, without medicine or doctor instructions I was 100%. My life for Christ took on a new vigor.

In college I started strong for the Lord but fell away as temptations smothered my relationship with Jesus. I became guilty and depressed. It was awful. This went on for months when my Pastor confronted me and reminded me of my commitment to the Lord. I accepted it back and was delivered from my depression. I never looked back going on with Jesus to Bible School.

I found peace with the Lord in Bible School and graduated on schedule. I joined with the Evangelical Christian Outreach Foundation. Here I led 15 Pastors who had a heart for the Mountain people. It was tough going in the mountains and very remote but with the Lord’s help we succeeded in presenting the Bible teachings of Jesus, to them. I worked closely with our founder from the USA, Keith Williams, who taught us how to witness in the remotest of areas.

We brought Jesus to the mountains where the Lord had never been taught. We found faithful young people to come to our first Bible School. (Which was discussed when we planted our first Bible College Cross 0091 in 2015).

Today we are here at our new Bible School. Our second location which is in Big Mardus, Glan, Mindanao, Philippines. Here we are stepping out in faith building a future supply of mountain youth who want to come to Bible School and learn how to serve Jesus.

We have an administration building and Habitat for Humanity in the Philippines has provided a dormitory for us. Now we are adding a Cross to give God Glory as we expand and reach out for Him. We are preparing for 30 students and the local Pastors have all rallied around us and will take turns teaching for free.

Pastor Bill please ask your readers to pray for us as we venture into the mountain jungles bringing the lifesaving message of Jesus Christ. There are more than 100 tribes and we will be working with them, one at a time.

My favorite Bible verse is Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” NKJV

The Cross to me is about the righteousness that we receive when we receive Christ. He alone offers eternal life through faith in Him.

Jesus died for my sins, your sins and everyone’s sins. All we need do is believe in Him. This Cross planted represents our opportunity to accept Jesus.

Prayer: Father thank for those who are preparing to take your Gospel where it has never been before. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
