Scripture: Acts 3:16
“By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see” NIV

Hello, my name is Pastor Reniel Nebab from the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Sogod, Southern Leyte, Philippines. This is my Cross testimony of how the Lord has carried us through with His miracle working power.

I was the second born of five children, growing up in many places. Namely, Bato-bato, Tawi-tawi Province, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur and mostly in Zamboanga City, Philippines.

Growing up Dad was a Pastor and mom was always there to help him. We were a church family, but I went to church because it was what we did. I had no choice in the matter. Then at age 12 a traveling evangelist came to town. His testimony and introduction to Jesus Christ touched my heart. I was unsettled after the meeting. The next day my dad sensed I needed Jesus and we discussed the things of the Lord. I gave my heart to Jesus on January 19, 1969.

My life with Jesus all of a sudden became real. He was with me each step of the way. I graduated high school and attended a vocational school. I saw the hard work and dedicated hours my Pastor dad and mom worked. I wanted nothing to do with it.

Graduating Vocational school I became a draftsman, but I was being drawn closer to the Lord. Then another evangelist held a revival and spoke on John 21:15-17: ‘Jesus said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.”‘

“Feed my sheep echoed in my head.” It was my time. I went to Bible school and I was ordained June 12, 1982. Here I met Ana and we were married. We have two children, our son is Leiner and our daughter Rainie.

Leiner, Rainie and I are all living testimonies of God’s miracle power.

I was about to die during my early years due to a respiratory disease. Doctors and medicines were useless. My father gathered the elders of the church to pray, and Jesus healed me.

Then my son Leiner was about one year old when he fell from a veranda about 7 feet high. He tumbled to the cement below landing on his head. Part of his head was soft when he was brought to the hospital. We all stood together in prayer for him. The Lord healed him. There were no complications even until today. He now is married and has a daughter of his own.

One day my daughter Rainie was on the school bus when it was involved in an accident. She fell off the bus onto the pavement. She was unconscious when she was brought to the hospital. Blood was trickling out of her ear. A CT-scan showed she had hemorrhaging between her skull and brain. Prayers were solicited here and abroad for God’s intervention. The Lord healed her and she fully recovered and made it out of the hospital way sooner than expected.

I just want to praise the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for He is the miracle worker. This is all God’s doing. To Him be the Glory.

The Cross reminds me of God’s saving power and grace when His only Son was crucified on my behalf so that I may be saved from the power of sin and the kingdom of darkness. Jesus Christ had to die in order that I may live and receive eternal life through faith in Him. The Cross reminds me that I am crucified with Him… nevertheless I live. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” NKJV

This Cross planted in our community will bring a tremendous significance because of the context of religious persuasion throughout the community. People here do the sign of the cross, but for a different meaning and purpose.

However, the Cross planted beside the church will communicate a message that the church is a Christian Church and the Cross signifies that we believe in Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of mankind. We in the Christian and Missionary Alliance have these basic tenets about Christ: He is Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and the Coming King!

Our vision is to see more people saved by faith and grace here and in nearby towns. We have embarked on a vision to plant 28 Churches in 28 adjacent towns over the next ten years. We started this vision in 2015 and today there are ten new church plants near Sogod.

We desire to be at the forefront of proclaiming the gospel of our Lord Jesus through the planting of churches. Please pray that the vision will be realized by God’s power and help. Our denomination desires to plant 750 churches in the next five years beginning in 2018. We will be participating in this great endeavor to the glory of God.

My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” NKJV

Pastor Bill, I am a sinner saved by God’s grace and I will commit my life to please the Lord and serve Him to the utmost. As a Pastor the Lord has given me the opportunity to be involved in the lives of people. I’m an instrument for the Lord helping others be Christ-like while being transformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Father thank you for instilling the desire to feed sheep as Jesus asked. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
